"Contrast 100", virus or spyware?

Have any of you run across this problem?

What comes up on my screen when online and loading a new page is a GREY box written inside of it in RED, "contrast 100" and has a red horizontal. It pops up at other times too, like right now when I am writting this. It also went away after abou 3 seconds.

Last week, we would get a message when shutting down that the program was not responding, and had to click end task. This has stopped happening this week.

I am afraid that I have spyware or something. I have norton and will run it when I am done writting, but do not have an anti spy ware,,,,will try to put it on also....used to have adaware ......but have made changes.


I am looking to see if anyone has heard of these problems before.
