XP User account problem

My brother decided to make an account for his wife on his PC with windows xp. He would normally just go into administrator but then he made this limited account for her and it was the only account that was there next time he rebooted. So limited and everything, he calls me asking how to fix. I tell him delete that username he created to get it to default back to administrator. No dice. I have him create a new admin power username but his music files and stuff arent in his filesharing programs, the shortcuts are as if the pc is new, etc etc. He tells me he wants his admin account he always used back but it only shows up when booting in safemode now. I tell him go in safe mode and delete the limited account. He deletes the new admin account too, but the problem is that limited account DOES NOT show on the user accounts thing. It just isnt there, but when he logs in its listed and it has its own folder. Whats going on? How would he go about things to get his regular Administrator account back?
