XP Application Error - dspcache.exe

I am running XP (SP2) on an e-machine 1742. I am receiving the following message every 5 seconds:
dspcache.exe Application Error
The instructions at "0x77e7650d" referenced memory at "oxc670ffbc". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

About every minute or 2 I also receive the following:
The exception Guard Page Exception
A page of memory that marks the end of a data structure, such as a stack or an arrry, has been accessed. (0x80000001) occurred in the application at location 0x00d51224. Click okay to terminate the program.

The dspcache.exe file is in the folder C/Windows/Prefetch.

I also get the application message error with a file ERSSDIAL.exe that was also in C/Windows/prefetch but I manually deleted that file and it has not come back but I suspect it may when I restart my PC. Whenever I manually delete the dspcache.exe file it just comes back.

I've run Norton antivirus in safe mode and Spysweeper (trial).

Any ideas how to stop this?

Thanks
