uninstalled downloads

Hi,
I'm a newcomer to this forum and have a small problem, that I would appreciate some assistance with, please........
Have downloaded an update, Windows xp office sp3, but it will not install, and every time I switch on, this comes up as waiting to be installed.
where do I go in order to delete this uninstalled file.
I have run "Search" but that cannot find the file.

Have you tried a System Restore to before you downloaded the file. Also kook at this from M$, if you can boot into Safe Mode with command prompt you can go a restore from there as well,http://support.microsoft.com/default...304449&sd=tech

Did you actually click it and tell it to install??? or are you just waiting for auto install??

A HijackThis log might tell you where it is, also how it is starting.
