Unhappy Moving folders, files to slave drive

Hi there:

I've been told two different things about my new slave drive. 1) I have to install windows xp onto the slave to run my programs. 2) I do not have to install windows xp onto the slave. Instead, move folders and files over to slave drive. I did that but some worked, some didn't. I have my xp on sort of a home network...just one computer, but wanted to shares files, etc. (My side has the administration of the computer) The problem is: I have filled up my old hard drive and NEED to put these files onto the new slave. How do I know if I've copied all the files, registrees, etc so the programs will work correctly?

In moving my Quicken folder over, then moving it back to the old drive I can't open it with my old password. (?)

How can I move several programs and files to the slave so they work correctly? Shall I say, what is the easiest way to do this...

Thank you-frustrated in Napa CA
