The box with red X in Email-no pictures

Just reformatted my computer,now some of my incoming Email I get a Box with a red X instead of pictures. I assume its some program similar to Active X that I don't have, any suggestions appreciated.

What email software are you using...Outlook Express, Outlook, Commnicator, Incredimail, something else?

Sorry I omitted the software, it's Outlook Express. Before the reinstall everything was ok..now the red X box. Im gussing that I need some program to open certain pictures.

Miz..I have solved the problem.. I didn't know that under options, security, the image could be blocked..I'm always learning..thanks
