Copy (or cut) and Paste error

I have a problem using copy and paste -

most times when I copy something (Ctrl + c) and then paste (Ctrl + v) what is pasted in is a screen shot instead - as if I had hit PrintScreen instead of just a copy.

What is more disturbing is when I cut (Ctrl + x), for example some text, the text dissapears as expected, but when I paste, still a screen shot is pasted instead...

Have I accidently ticked a setting somewhere which I dont know of?

Thanks
Ed

Any ideas anyone?

FYI - I am using WinXP Pro W.SP2 on an IBM T41 laptop.

I have oneNote installed and as this has powerfull copy and paste functionality I initially suspected this...

Thanks
Ed

Well it seems I have found the answer - incase anyone else has the problem check if you are using a splitter connecting you mouse / keyboard into your PC - this was causing the copy and paste functions to screw up.
