Can't edit my photos

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with 256MB DDr 333 Mhz PC2700 RAM. I have taken alot of digital photos with our camera and I have taken them in picture quality. The problem, however, is that now I want to post some of these photos but I need to change the resolution to 72dpi. I have tried using printshop and finepix software but just can't find out how to edit the photos in this manner. Please help me if you can. I'm knew to this computer jazz so if more system info is required please let me know. Thanks

I threw the finepix software out - it sucks. I've use 3 different resizers and the best one is Easy Thumbnails. It is simple, fast , with good quality. http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/
I take 3 megapix pictures and resize them to1100/800 for wallpaper and emailing. I resize another folder full @ 2 megapix for my dvd player which will not show pics over 2.1. I put all the originals on disk. Hope this helps.

Rarely do I praise image thumbnailing software, but ARLES is the BEST I've ever used. And believe you me I have tried many-a-package looking for the least irritating.

While it's name smacks of Visual Basic ilk it's by no means irritating in any degree. Arles Image Web Page Creator 5.1 is as flexible as it is powerful.

http://digitaldutch.com/arles/

from the image explorer

to the image watermarking

it can be a simple off the shelf solution with little thinking -- using templates, or fully customizable including batch processing:

Now if you merely wanted an application to resize your images that's easy to use and relatively low cost I first recomend[/b]

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0
~ $60 on amazon.com

if for some twisted reason you have spite against Adobe there's also

Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7
~ $99 (version 8 should be out next month)

30 day trial versions of each are available from the respective producers.

In paint Shop Pro your task would be accomplished by

[Image] .. [[Resize...]][*] Actual Print Size

then specify either the printable image dimensions or adjust the resolution.

tada

hope this helps
