Problem with soundcard? or Itunes?

I started getting this problem out of nowhere... My itunes started playing songs in a weird way as if each track is like a broken cd. The songs keep skipping and stopping and playing. I reinstalled itunes and it didn't change anything. First i thought it might be from my soundcard but then i played the songs through windows media player and winamp and they were OK. I sometimes get the same sounds through winamp but i guess they occur when the computer's busy doing other tasks.
By the way my laptop's soundcard is SigmaTel C-Major Audio.

Can anyone help me? Is it from my soundcard? or something else?

Thanks

I occasionaly get the same problem you are having. iTunes is a very resource demanding program... So that "cd skipping noise" that you are getting is your computer trying to keep up with its processes.

Try going to "start" then "run" then type in "msconfig" then the "startup" tab. Uncheck all of the start up items that you hardly ever use, and are just using up memory. (If you extend the "command" tab out all the way, it can help you identify the name of startup item if you cannot do so from its name.)

Once you have done deleted unecessary start up items, you computer should have more RAM to work with. Reboot your computer and see if iTunes works.

problem with sound card

Hello,

I have a toshiba satellite pro m30. My sound worked fine until a few weeks ago, when it suddently stop. It worked sometimes with iTunes and with Media Player, but then I would hear a noise like the music was playing itself slowly, and then it would stop. Then, nothing works. No audio at all. If I wait for a while (30 minutes or less) then it works again. I reformated the laptop again but I get the same problem. The music plays for a while and then it begins to disapear with this noise.

I need help!!! The soundcard is the SigmaTel C-Major audio. (Of course, I went to Toshiba website to upgrade the driver but no luck...) THANX 4 UR Help!!!
