Major Windows Problem Formatting didnt fix!

Hi I'm an ok PC user and I've been using Windows for almost my entire life and I never encountered this problem before and I hope one or several of you would be able to help me.

Problem:
I download a media file and run it in windows media player. The media player freezes up but the sound is still playing. I try to close media player but it won't close so I'm forced to close it. Once I do that the media player acts as if its closing but its not. I click the screen several times and my whole system freezes and I'm forced to hit the restart button.

Now I've tried this in different players (VLC, mpc, real media) and its the same exact result for all. I reformatted hoping that would fix the problem. Boy was I wrong.

After I finished installing all my drivers all happy thinking my problem was fixed I decided to go test it out by looking at a game trailer. And BAM the same exact problem hits me right in the face and boy was I MAD! And frustrated! Microsoft why do you hate me?!

Well if anybody knows the solution oh plz plz help me!
