Guys, elsewhere I posted earlier that I couldn't get Windows to let me "Drag and Drop" files from a ZIP file onto like my desktop/another folder. It would show the uncompressing progress (using standard Windows Compressed Folders) and after it was done - nothing. (I'm sure of it, searched HDD, etc, etc - no file made). It was really annoying cuz I like everything to be in order and working; and this wasn't. Nevertheless, I just decided to associate my ZIP files to my WinRAR and be done with it. Now I visit a FTP site quickly via MS Internet Explorer to grab a file; and I drag it to the desktop (or a folder) and it pretends to get it; then nothing. Alright, you might just say "just use an FTP program" --- but I'm the kinda guy who hates leaving something broken and just 'working around it'.
So my symptoms are I cannot drag and drop anything that is in a zip file or within an MSIE window (and only that as far as I know). I'd really like to fix this; any ideas?
Win XP PRO SP2
I've tried: re-registering DLLs up the wazoo, making sure my start menu has 'enable drag and drop'ping, and a couple registery 'fixes' that did nothing for me...
It's really annoying and if I can't fix it... sigh, I'm going to format
Please assist :X
