Network issue

Hi there I have 15 computers all networked with Windows XP Pro. and Two computers running 98. The Windows 98 machines are able to see the Win XP machines in Network Neighbourhood, but are unable to access them. Trying to browse them across the network gives the error message "Access Denied".

Also another problem we are facing at another place. Windows XP machines is not able to browse the contents of Windows 2000 machines over the network. Same error message here also and vice versa.

Any ideasssss??????????

Don't really know much about networks, but you could check if you NIC has the 'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks'. If not click install > Service and locate there.

Otherwise you could try the the SOHO Network Wizard in the Netwrok Connections left pane.

I am not 100% sure, but in case the xp machines are formatted using NTFS there could be a problem with that. The problem should not exist the other way around since NTFS can read FAT partitions. Hope this will help.
