Display problem after removing spyware

Hello everybody. I just joined your community and this is my first post.
I have a problem with my display after removing the "Azesearch toolbar".
To remove the spyware I used "AdAware", "Spybot", "Ewido", "Smitrem" and "Microsoft Antispyware beta". After the removal I can no longer see my wallpaper. If I go to the control panel > Display I can choose the wallpaper I want but once I get back to my working environment it will not be displayed, a white screen will be displayed as background instead.
If a right click on the desktop and choose properties, the display properties window will not be displayed. A different window called "Properties" will be displayed with one tab only ("General") referring to and HTML document with a "Not available" note.
I checked the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System registry key and everything seems to be in order (all values set to "0").

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

Hi, if you are sure you dont have any spyware in your system anymore then go a do this:

Insert your XP Installation CD in the CD Drive. Click on Start/ Run and type "sfc /scannow" without quotes... that should fix the problems. Good luck... No data will be erased, nothing will be lost...

If you haven't got things fixed yet, to get the tabs back in Display Properties, go to Kelly's Korner, scroll down to line 285 and in the right-hand column, click on "Restore All Display Tabs" to download a small reg file.

After downloading, run the file according to the directions at the top of the Kelly's Korner page.

Once you have the tabs back, in Display Propeties, go to the Desktop tab, click the Customize button, go to the Web tab. Uncheck anything that's checked there, click OK and OK again. See if the wallpaper starts working again.
