Smile A very..bad problem! urgent help please.

Hello everyone.

Well, I'm completely desesperated!

I bought this computer 1 year ago, recently the CPU stopped working and it went to repair they put a new one.
When I started my computer, I noticed they installed Windows XP on the Windows XP that was already here, they didn't even formated it.

Ok so you are asking "So what's the problem?"

The problem is that I can't install some programs, like Nero, Pinnacle, Photoshop, Lineage, Microsoft Office.

Either from the hard drive or from the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM they or give me corrupted files, or say that they can't find a file, i'm sick of this situation..i even tried to download lineage with a download manager and from other places, and it is still CORRUPTED.

3 days ago, more or less, I formated my computer.. from the Windows XP cd..and it's still the same, corrupted files everywhere, errors on the anti-virus, everything!

please give me a solution for this problem..or tell me how to format my pc completely, because I think formating from the windows cd doesn't do it.

Thanks in advance for the pacience!

You might be able to boot into recovery mode, get in a console and type "format c:" without the quotation marks.

Or use the XP installer and delete all the partitions then make a new one for XP.

Or use a linux installer (like ubuntu) that has a much better partitioner.

Can you be more specific, please? ^^

I think I booted from the CD, deleted the partition C, and made a new partition C, is that what you meant?

Take a look at this, also did you formate first, if you did, did you use Quick formate, it's best not to. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

Hope this helps
