This looks to be an MSI motherboard, they have a Live Update facility that will check your system and advice on any updates you need check it out here it's listed under Utility http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=686&kind=1

Unless you are haveing problems, it's best to leave well alone, I did notice a 5.1 Creative sc, this could be a separate sound card installed, instead of Realtek Onboard sound, I have a similar setup to yourself, and have a yellow question next to Raid, I don't have Raid installed although my board supports it, so I leave it alone, Bios is another matter, all advice I have sought is not to update unless a major problem occurs. This little programe will give a list of all drivers installed on your comp, including Win drivers http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...entifier.shtml
I have a printout of mine, very helpful in tracing drivers.
The most important drivers to keep the system happy are at the begining, Utilities are optional.
Can you complete the line Other Devices/Multimedia Audio Controller.
Hope this helps

Thanks again, I guess it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, I do get the message " system has just recovered from a serious error" and thought the yellow question marke on Other devices/ Multimedia audio controller may have had something to do with it, im no computer expert but thought the memory may be being used somewhere but it doesnt know it is so the periodic slowdown may be the pc trying to use memory when its already in use, any way off to finish my spaghetti bolognaise off 8)
Cheers Barbara 8)

If MSI Liveupdate brings up these two drivers to install, then I would install them
the VIA 4 in 1 Driver, this must be installed first and if Realtek needs uodating, then go to Realtek, the driver listed is out of date 3.80 is the new AC'97 driver http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True
Realtek's site is slow, very popular.
