Problems on Windows Xp User Accounts.

When I go into My control panel and click on user accounts i get this message.

" Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept focus"

I have no clue why it does this and I would like to edit my user accounts. I am loged on under the Admin account on my computer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Colors

Arrow

Did you happen to run Group Policy and fool with any thing? Have you tried to switch to classic view and scroll down with the arrow keys and hit enter instead of a mouse?
There is one thing I go by when things like this come up. When it is crazy like this is, check for a virus (Like Sir Cam worm virus). You need to go out on the net to find a tool just for that virus in this case.
Try it, what can it hurt?

Unhappy I have the same issue...

I receive the exact same error message and mine is a clean install to a reformatted hard drive so it is NOT virus related. I made no customizations and everything else seems to function just fine but I am unable to edit the icons that appear next to each username I have set up on the computer.

As to Colors problem, you can get around it by right-clicking on "My Computer" and choosing "Manage" (or click Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Administrative Tools/Computer Management) and go into "Local Users and Groups/Users". From here you can add and delete users, change passwords and user accounts.

This is strictly in response to this above-mentioned problem because I had the exact same thing happen to me. I tried a bunch of recovery programs because I thought that the account had been erased when, in fact, it hadn't. It was simply "in limbo" (for lack of a better term). I logged onto my account once and it didn't log me on correctly (this has happened before) and I logged off and tried again. But instead of waiting for the account to log me back on, I restarted the computer by holding down the power button. The same thing that happened to lildudeinacar happened to me. But later when I tried logging onto my account and going to "my documents," even though it redirected me to "C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP", I was able to delete the "TEMP" part in the address bar (obviously you must have this function enabled from "folder options") and plug in my xp account name. To my pleasant surprise my files showed up. It's weird because I'm unable to search for these files (even though they're not hidden) and, again, I can't simply click on my documents to view them. Also, doing this did not work from other accounts, even when they had administrative rights. I must add, as well, that my ability to view hidden files and some other functions (such as access to programs I installed under this account) were disabled, but at least my files were still there and perfectly in tact!
