c0000135 error on Windows XP

My other computer is stuck in restart (Windows XP). I disabled auto restart and the error read c0000135. It won't start in safe mode (same error and restarts) and won't reset to previous configurations, any ideas out there?

Vidster,
Looked at the link you sent, will this work with XP or NT only? My error message is more like this link (except I neither loaded XP SP2 or have TV Media):

Take a look at your link, it shows a critical update missing, have you checked for any critical updates needed.

Hope this helps

C0000135 Error

Barbara,
I can't get the computer to get past the error message, even in safe mode. Any thoughts on how I can check for TV Media and/or the critical patch (I'm assuming I need to get to the XP desktop)? The computer has XP Professional installed.
Thanks!

If you have a Win CD you could do a repair install of windows, you won't loose any settings or data, look here on how to http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Hope this helps

Barbara,
Many thanks for your tips, I successfully got the computer back up (using recovery mode). Stupid me, I had the recovery disc in the CD bay when it belonged in the DVD bay (I figured it out after studying the BIOS settings and the computer manual). The computer's running smoothly again, I downloaded the critical patch from MS website as well.
Thanks to all!
