Get the driver from Realtek http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install.

If it still does not work then you will need these 2 drivers from the Sony link
I posted.
Motherboard - Intel Chipset driver- install first then Restart your comp
System Components - Sony Shared Library

then install driver from Realtek

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

1-There is no sound recording capabilities for Skype, and
2- Found hardware wizard that can't find the Multimedia Audio Controller.

-The Device Manager also says there is none detected (Multimedia Audio Controller).

-Checked the Realtek site and there doesn't seem to be a download for WinXP.

-Also did the Windows troubleshooting to no avail.

-Tried restoring the system to two days ago restore point and it said it couldn't do it so that my computer is still unchanged.

-The AutoCAD download took three times to finally download so maybe something got messed up in the process. I'm trying to avoid having to uninstall it since it took so long to finally get through.

Tried three times to download EverestUltimate from softpedia but it said the file was incomplete. Was able to download the Belarc system info program though.
Below is some info on my computer from that.

Any suggestions on what to do? Would much appreciate some direction!

My recent problem is I am having very low volume getting from my speakers and headphones set.Prior to this the volume level was fine and it is udjustable from low to high.
I checked the volume settings, and sigmatel audio settings in the control panel, and downloaded SndVol32.exe when settings say it does not find. But the problem still persists.
Please let me know the solution.

Thanks,

Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

Question No Mulitmedia Audio Controller AC97

I tried downloading the AC 97 driver from the Realtek link you gave me on 6-17 and got this message from the setup.exe Install Shield Wizard:

"No Drive or AP was supported in this driver package." Then the window closed and put me back at the files. There were other exe files - was I supposed to open another one?

No Multimedia Audio Controller AC 97

About the motherboard, I looked up my model on the Powerspec site and it says the "system board" is Biostar i945G-M7. Does that sound right?

The Belarc program gave this information on the "Main Circuit Board" :
Board: LakePort
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 06/30/2005

If your model is the Powerspec 9130 go here http://www.powerspec.com/support/support_archive.phtml

select the 9130 model

install the Intel chipset driver, then Restart your comp, then install audio again

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Had a look at Fry's site, no model 7253S just 7253H with no audio download, ECS for that board also no C-Media download, I suspect it's not enabled in the BIOS, I'll need to check the manual to see how to enable in the BIOS will post back later
