Please Help...

Check these out
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.Check that realtek is the default audio device

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

This is werid. I did that earlier and it worked. Then I turned it off, and later when I went on it wouldn't work. I tried doing the Control Panel thing but when I looked for the Realtek as an option it wasn't there. So then I tried to reinstall it which only served to freeze the computer. After I rebooted it for the 3rd time and check for the Audio options, the Realtek option is there...

I also want to say that everytime I tried to do something like go on the internet or go to my control panel and click the "Sound and Audio Devices" it freezes for awhile. Then I have to wait for some time before it will work...

What is going on?

What is going on?

You will have to install the Chipset drivers from Sony
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...eType=Original

Under
Motherboard - Intel chipset driver - install then restart your comp

then
System Components - Sony Shared Library

then the audio

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING EACH DRIVER JUST IN CASE
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

I suspected that a sound card was installed and that you needed to tell Windows which sound device to use, but if only on the I/O plate that is not the case.

Try a System File Check to see if system files are missing and to replace

Try a System File Check go to Run – type “sfc /scannow” (without the quotes and note space after sfc) have Win disc available in case sfc needs to replace or repair any files. The programme runs with no alerts and then closes.

I recently did a system restore from recovering when my computer decided not to work for a period of time. Once I got my comp working again, I was missing a mixed device. I checked the hardware and my audio device was on the list. I checked its properties and it says "this device is working properly" and that it is enabled. then i checked it properties on and it says "Status: Device is enabled but not functioning properly" so ive like tried downloading everything and installed everything and tried uninstalling and installing and i get the same result.
I have a feeling that the driver is dead, but I'm not a computer expert.

HALP!
