After downloading the hotfix and running the installer, and after extracting the files to a set folder, the "InstallShield Wizard will guide you through the rest of the setup procedures" window comes up, but then disappears after the bar is full and nothing else comes up. Looking at the device details, the hotfix didn't change anything (the driver date is still 05/03/2004). Did I install it incorrectly or is there something wrong with the hotfix?

Need to be sure you have onboard audio, are your audio plugs at the top of the tower near keyboard, mouse etc on the I/O plate or nearer the bottom in an exspansion slot, let me know please

Once i downloaded it, i opened it but nothing happened :S Yesterday i looked up how to get my audio working. I was on a forum that told me to put my PC in SAFE MODE then delete my sound/multimedia drivers in device manager, i did this and they said when i run windows normally they should re-install again. The drivers never re-installed infact nothing at all happened, windows just normally started up. So now ive lost all ym sound/multimedia drivers Is there any way of getting them back.

Reply ASAP
Thanks!

Check this out
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

Hope this helps
