Found this at HP Business forum, install the chipset then the audio driver, it lista as for XP and Vista, the chipset is the same as your model
http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/...readId=1204284
Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

This is Conexant HD audio from HP for XP http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...=228&lang=e n
first you must install the M$ UAA http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...32444&dlc=e n
install - then Restart your comp then install Conexant audio driver
Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

need the model, Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

Well, it's obvious that I'm not the only one with this problem. I just recently installed Windows XP Pro on my Compaq Presario SR2150NX which came with Vista Basic. After the switch to Pro, I came across the problem that all of you have had. I have searched for hours and have installed the drivers for the video card that is supposedly not there. I may need other drivers, but I can' t find any. My motherboard is an ECS RC415ST-HM. I can't figure out what's wrong with it. None of the drivers do anything for the sound. If you can help it would be much appreciated. If you need anymore information from me just ask.
