Can't delete a folder. (not a permissions problem)
This is a recurring problem and it is really starting to cause problems. Luckily I know Microsoft products well enough to do automated nightly backups. But that's a whole other topic. The problem is that occasionally I double-click a folder and it will say "foldername not accessible. Access denied." I'm using NTFS, so naturally I tried logging on as administrator and taking ownership, or just making it open to everyone, but even the admin gets the same error. This error seems to happen when I click and drag a folder or file into another folder, but not always. I've tried opening a dos shell, but it says the folder does not exist...even though a "dir" clearly shows the folder is there. I cannot view, rename, or delete this folder, so it's basically stuck there. This also sometimes happens to files. I've tried running a chkdsk /F, but still have the same problem. It might also be important to note that I'm using a Promise RAID chip on my Gigabyte main board for a dual disk stripe.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Anthony
