Windows - Registry Recovery

I have a problem. When I boot I get a message “Windows – Registry Recovery - One of the files containing the system’s registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternative copy. The recovery was successful”.

I’ve been getting this problem for at least 4 months. If I continue to answer OK to the message, eventually the system will become unstable (i.e.; system hangs in the blue screen, System Restore displays a blank screen, Add and Remove Programs display a blank screen …) If I am able to do a System Restore to a known stable system, this prolong the inevitable blue screen.

System Info:
HP Pavilion Notebook – ze5270
Pentium 4 (2.4 GHz)
512 MB memory
Windows XP – Home Addition (Service Pack 2)

Here is what I’ve tried:

1. Registry Mechanic – no problems
2. Ran Norton Antivirus - no viruses
3. Ran Earthlink Antivirus – no viruses
4. Ran two different ad-ware removal programs – no ad-ware
5. Ran Microsoft’s memory test for 12 hours – no problems found
6. Repaired Window XP from the CD three different times – the problem returned with a few weeks
7. Ran Disk Check, and Defrag – problem continued
8. Ran sfc /scannow – no help

This problem has really got me stumped. I keep my Antivirus programs and Ad-ware programs up-to-date and scan my system often.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the solution provided by MS for corrupted registry ?? I guess as a last resort you may want to give a try (Backup all your date first though)
