weird hd/mobo probs

i think this is prolly a hardware prob. i cant really just connect and HD 2 my comp 4 some reason which is annoyin bc i have 5 250gb WD and 1 160gb Seagate all must be used in the same combination the WD's cant be connected together (im not talking about raid just actually connecting on the IDE cable) they must be connected to the Seagate and the Seagate wont work as a single drive....like i said its really weird my specs are as follows

5 Western Digital 250Gb
1 160 GB Seagate
AMD 64 3800+ sckt 939
ASUS A8V Deluxe (latest revision and version)
1024 mb OCZ Plat. Ram
42x cd-rw drive
Sony dual layer dvd/cd r/rw
ATI Radeon X800 XT
POWMAX 350 watt PSU

You want to connect 6 Hard drives ?????

How many IDE channel do you have ?? have you look to see your IDE cable has only three connector ? one of which goes to the board and the other two for IDE drive.

Did you check the Jumper setting on the hard drive, are you sure they set for Mater and Slave per IDE channel.

Bottom line, If you are not considering RAID configuration then you can't connect 6 IDE drives to your system, you MUST use 4 IDE and 2 SATA for any setting other then RAID.

no no i mean i only want to raid 2 of these for now and have the 160gb on another ide chain or something the other 3 are on anther server also ive tried diff. jumpers is it comp. issues with WD/Seagate?
