Internet Explorer 6 takes ages to load

Can anybody help with this?

If I fire up IE from Start Menu, from Desktop shortcut or from Task Manager/ New Task, it takes ages to load.

In fact I can fire it up four or five times from Task Manager and watch all the iexplore.exe processes in the proceses tab but they don't appear in the applications tab or on my desktop for at least two or three minutes.

Also, frequently when I click on a link in IE or OE the program just freezes and I have to switch out of it and back (sometimes several times) to regain control.

Any ideas???

What is your computer spec ? Anti Virus ???? have you have any issue with your computer lately ?

Did you install FireFox to see if it responds the same way ? Did you try to un-install and reinstall IE ?

Yeah by any chance have u used IE7 standalone to IE6?? I had the same problem that IE7 changes a settings in IE6 so it wont load properly. The only way to fix this problem is delete a registry key in the windows registry. If this is the problem that u used IE7 standalone reply and ill tell ya the key to fix it.
