Can't find a fix for this IE problem!

Sorry about the long post, I thought I'd explain as best I could.

About a week ago Internet Explorer stopped accessing some sites. When I try to go to some sites, It just comes up with a white screen and says Done at the bottom left hand corner. As if the page has loaded.I don't get any error messages at all.
I can access these sites in Firefox and heck I can even access these sites in Internet Explorer while in Safe Mode.

I've been browsing forums since then trying to find the answer but nothing has worked yet.

Here's what I've tried:

Emptied Temp,Temporary Internet Folder,Cookies,History & Preftech Folders. (edit:meant to say folder content)

Spybot Search and Destroy.
Ad-Aware.
Avast AntiVirus.
Trend Micro House call.
Trend Micro Spyware Scan.
SpywareBlaster.
CWShredder.

Set IE to default settings.
Fixed Winsock.
Re-Installed IE via IEFix.
Repaired IE via Start/Run/sfc /scannow
Checked Restricted Sites in IE.
Added sites to Trusted Sites in IE.
Done all the fixes on Microsoft website.

Various Security settings(java/activex etc) in IE suggested by other people.
(I always reset them back again as soon as I noticed they didn't work)

Checked the Hosts file in Windows.

Using Start/Run/ (ran these commands)

REGSVR32 urlmon.dll

REGSVR32 Shdocvw.dll

REGSVR32 Msjava.dll

REGSVR32 Actxprxy.dll

REGSVR32 Cryptdlg.dll

REGSVR32 Oleaut32.dll

REGSVR32 Mshtml.dll

REGSVR32 Browseui.dll

REGSVR32 Shell32.dll

All commands succeeded but still had no effect.

I recently added a Guestbook to my own site (from Bravenet) and I can't access it in IE.
I can access it in Firefox and again I can access it with IE in Safe Mode, lol weird.

Just for the record I'm using Win XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 1 Fully Updated.

IE Version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301-1526
Cipher Strength: 128 bit
Update Versions: SP1

The Basics of my PC are:-Gigabyte GA-8IPE 1000 Pro2 Mobo, Pentium4 2.66, 512mb Kingsmax PC2700 DDR Ram, PNY GeForce FX5700 Ultra, Sounblaster Live 24-Bit, Linksys WRT54G Router, Broadband 4mb Connection.

Can anyone suggest anything else I can try to resolve this problem.
I know I can just use Firefox but that would be just sweeping the problem under the carpet.
I'd like to know why this was happening in the first place.

Any Help Much Appreciated, Ronnie Mckell.

Hace you tried Brothersoft's Reset Internet Explorer. As you've probably guessed, it resets everything in IE back to the 'factory defaults'.

Thank for the quick reply mahdiislam.

I downloaded from the link you provided but was put off by the first screen which popped up. "Reset IE comes with Ads."

I appreciate your quick reply though.

It's given me the idea to go and look for something similar.

Ronnie.

Is there a specific reason you are using IE? You can also use another browser such as firefox from www.mozilla.com

It does everything IE does and more. I haven't had a single browser issue since I started using it about 6 months ago.

He said he has Firefox in his original post. He just wants IE fixed instead of working around the problem, much like I would and like he said.

The only suggestion I would have for you is this. Not long ago I was having exactly the same problem and reregistering the dll (like you did) didn't help me either. What did finally do it was downloading the trial version of Ashampoo.

Why I *think* it worked, is that it removed the last remains of that worthless, POS program/company AOL. My son downloaded the AOL IM without my knowledge and that's just about when my problems began.

May not work for you, but it's worth a try.
