XP locks up at Black welcome screen.

2 days ago I downloaded the Google Desktop pack. After that my computer locks up when I turn it on. It just sits at the black startup screen for approx 10-15 mins, then eventually begins to start up and load everything else.

Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem and if so how do you fix it. I'm not sure if this problem has anything to do with the Google Desktop pack or not, it's maybe just coincidence.

Thanks!

I can't remember where I read this but there was a problem with Google Desktop Search which compromised the computer's security and made it vulnerable to attacks. The best way to fix this would probably be to enter Safe Mode and do a System Restore.
