Cant boot from windows xp disc ..HELP PLZZ

im trying to wipe my pc and install a fresh windows xp but it wont let me do from disk as it says i have newer version and it wont let me boot from this either .i have change drives in bios and done everything i know ,so im looking for some helpurgenty plzzzzzzzzzzz

If you're boot CD is first in the boot sequence in the BIOS and it ignores it, then you may have a hardware problem with the drive.

Explain a bit more, you're question and what you've done isn't clear (I'm being nice).

Do you have an upgrade cd, recovery, or a full version?

You have to make sure you delete the partition xp is on. You then create another and format it.

hi again , sorry 4 not explaining well a bit of a pcn00b , i have full version of xp but im not getting anything from cd when i reboot ive ben in bios and made cd drive no1 and tried to boot from floopy to install cd but that doesnt work either! i do hve a patition on laptop but there is nothing on that either ,the laptop is 2nd hand and was no disc;s with it as in master cd's thats why im going down this road

also i have just downloaded the 6 discs from microsoft and tried that way when i got to the install xp bit my laptop crashed with blue scren error mesage
