Loading & applying user personal settings taking 2-3mins
SUBJECT
I have set up a small network comprising of 13 dell w/s running xp pro with 512mb memory P4, all using 100mb nics all connected to a 100mb switch. The server is a windows 2000 small business server.
Problem
The infrastructure is ethernet and using DHCP,DNS & Active directory.
The problem is that it is taking a w/s up to 2 mins to load & apply personal settings before the user can use the workstation. I have changed the services so that the windows network is loaded first, then browser and finally terminal services.
The users have three network drives mapped & one printer.
The main applications are sage,act and office pro.
This is occuring using a roaming & local profile.
Any answers to why it is taken this long to apply the personal settings ?
