repair mbr WITHOUT XP CD

I have a faulty cdrom drive. I am trying to restore my MBR, but the only solutions I have seen involve using an XP disc, which is not possible for me because my cdrom drive doesn't work. Can the MBR be restored without having to resort to an XP disc? My laptop does not have a floppy drive, otherwise I would have used that.

At this site you can download a clone of fixmbr and run it straight from windows without any recovery cd or rebooting. I tried it using xp home and it works.
