then using a tune up manager run a registry clean this will then inturn delete the active-x controls the spyware uses, hope that is of some use to you guys, and as far as the company that provides the software, i will be contacting the police about there illegal activities

thanks for help cleared the sh!t from my computer I would like to put these guys in a room for a fe days with some white noise for company

Am I SOL?

I ended up with Spy Falcon's crap on my computer a few days ago. The first thing I did was disconnect from my cable modem, not knowing what kind of nasty things it might do with my connection. From there, I ran a few virus/adware/spyware scanners, and removed everything they found. Of course, while Spy Falcon no longer seemed to be on my system, the problem was still there. Having a very good idea of how it got there, I tried to uninstall the program that likely (definately) put Spy Falcon on. Now my system seems to be trashed completely. I have no problem formatting and re-installing everything, but I don't want to lose 70+ gigs worth of mostly important, irreplacable files. We bought a new computer, and I tride putting my harddrive in it to salvage what I could, but my drive doesn't show up and can't be accessed. This new computer is really kinda crappy, so the problem may be with it. Does anybody know for sure if trying to remove Spy Falcon incorrectly completely ruins a harddrive? That is, should I still be able to retrieve my files, or am I SOL?
Dave

Howdy,

I turned up w/ Spy Falcon this morning and found it very tenacious. I Googled into this forum and saw some likely suggestions for removal. I tried the most rudimentary ( add/remove programs and deleting every thing in sight) to no avail. Before trying the more involved process's I remembered 'System Restore'. I knew exactly when I got the bug so I restored to the day before. It seems to have worked nicely. Was I just lucky that System Restore worked and I had a convenient restore point? Is System Restore a valid answer to this ugly vindictive piece of code?

Arrow restore before spy f

Hi Reibob1 and all,

I got spf before and a couple of times includung a few minutes ago

The first time I just googled spy falcon and got this very STT forum thread in the search results. That was a number of months ago. I read thru the posts and checked out a number of things and tried deleting some files and programs with no success [ I already had Adaware and Edwido , and Hijack This on this computer and while considering what to do I decided to see what a system restore would do.
I picked a date that I knew should be ok and restored to it . It worked fine .

I came to this thread this morning when Spy Falcon flew in to see what had been posted since I first was here a few months back and there were a number of newer posts . I tried looking to see what files I could find on my system and deleting a
few but then went to system restore because it had worked so well a couple of times before .
It seems to have worked fine again this time.

From the first and in later experience with spy falcon it seems to me that they are more interested in getting money than causing trouble on your system but just asking you to send them money to prevent them from putting their files on your system would be extortion, making them criminals .
By offerring to help you get rid of the files they are hoping to masquerade as good guys and hope you will not believe they put them there .

As an interesting side note , I find that Adaware reports eAcceleration's Stopsign files as malware and Stopsign scans report Adaware files .

I suppose it is possible that they report each other because each of them have virus definition files in their programs but then why don't they report the bigger virus definition files of Norton or McAfee?

Anyone have any knowledge or comment about that?

Good health to all systems , bd

spyware falcon

For those of you using XP and suffering from spyware falcon here is an easy way out;
Go to system restore and select a restore point prior to the date that you downloaded spywarefalcon.
After the restore go to Windows Explorer...
System C then to
program files, expand that in left pane
and you should find a subfile <spyfalcon> or similar.
highlight that and open it in right pane you should then find a file/folder with <spywarefalcon> <spyfalcon> or similar.
highlight that then hold down shift key and press delete and that wiped the entire problem for me. Hope it works for you.

Talking extra tip for removing spyfalcon

thank you Flaxen for the info and direction you provided, it was great and removed most of spyfalcon. after following the instructions on the site you provided i still had some annoying bits of spyfalcon hanging on.

i ended up importing some freeware called spy blaster from this site:

http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10486084.html?idl=n

it found the last remaining three places where spyfalcon was still lurking and allowed me to get rid of them. what an insidious malicious piece of rubbish to have floating around the place. And they are probably getting rich from people who purchase spyfalcon just to get rid of the annoying pop-ups.

Anyway, thank you to all who provided me with advice and direction, it was most appreciated.

Hell!! Look at the Web page and it would sound like someone is taking advantage on you, they are tricking people as hell, that's a robery!! I googled to the spy Falcon web page... this is what I found...

What is SpyFalcon ? SpyFalcon is the world’s leading spyware solution that destroys spyware infections present on your PC while blocking and protecting your system from malicious intrusions before they become a problem.

95% of computers are Infected with Spyware.... 85% should be with SPY FALCON... ROBBERTS!!

Spyware is the most dangerous threat to home privacy and security today. After just a few minutes surfing the internet, you may have unknowingly downloaded countless Spyware and Adware applications that install themselves on your system and exploit it.

Why is Spyware Dangerous?

Spyware, like a virus, is a malicious software planted on your PC by a third party in order to secretly monitor what you do online.
Once your browsing habits are analyzed, you are flooded with endless Commercials, Popups and Spam from inside your PC!
Spyware collects your private information and steals your identity, passwords, credit card details and other financial data.
Spyware also dramatically slows down your computer and Internet connection speeds.
The presence of the infection is hidden, and is not revealed even by AntiVirus or Firewall programs.

The only solution is a designated anti-spyware program. SPY FALCON

Shit... have anybody reported this problem to the company or has done anything to stop that crap!!! I'm gonna try to send it to the News here in Miami FL to see if we can write the truth on a newspaper to let people know about it...

Could you tell me the link to this free version, only when I downloaded the "free version" I had to register it before it would remove anything, not that I did register it.

I would also suggest to see what stuff has been added to your system32 folder by organizing it by date, then weed out what you know is good and you'll see some suspicious files I am sure. These guys don't want this stuff removed from your computer. Other than that I don't have any more advice, I'd seek professional help or a sledge hammer.

I have norton internet security 2006 for god's sake, if that can't remove spyfalcon, I doubt any of these crappy little tricks or spyware removers that you can download for "free" will work.
