Well some people don't have issues with using IE whether its for security reasons or what not , I myself have always like IE over Firefox/Netscape and Opera , On my comp IE loads quicker , And I have try all the damn plug ins for those others browser , I know what alot of people seem to be using more and more but this is another reason as to why sooner or later those browser will be hit harder with in time , yeah i know that firefox is always updating their browser with newer version , IE gets so many attacks I believe becasue of the amount of user that do still use IE , even with all the holes it might have ( A good firewall/anti- virus/spyware should help ) I have set up a few comps with most of the latest updates from MS site , not all updates , mostly the security ones , which MS has a few at the moment , Bottom line is, to each, to them own . If a real hacker really wants in , I'm sure he/she will get in , doesn't matter which browser you are using

SP_100,

You are using Firefox? And you took out IE? I use Firefox as well but I left IE in there so I could run MS Update and some websites just work better with IE, even if you use UserAgent Switch in FF.

Go get IE again, keep FF as your default browser. Use IE for MS update and MS Catalog.

Microsoft - updates - has - just - been - updated -and - are - available - , take - a -look

It was extremely obvious what you were trying to say, IMHO.

Furthermore, I have said the following , so many times: -

I have never had a security problem with IE and I use IE 99% of the time. As long as you have the following, you are perfectly fine, IMHO (common sense prevails): -

1. A quality Firewall/Anti-Virus, correctly configured, and always up-to-date

2. Quality anti-malware programs, correctly configured and always up-to-date

3. IE-SPYAD and MVPS Hosts file, once again, always up-to-date

4. SpywareBlaster installed and always up-to-date

5. Follow safe email and surfing practices

Others may disagree. However, you won't go far wrong, IMHO.............................................. ....

I couldn't add to my earlier message, for some reason.

6. Configure Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom Level correctly (Google it).

Good luck, dude...............................

You forgot to mention:
A good anti-burglary system with integrated video surveillance
Several loyal pit bulls
AK 47
And unused condom

P.S. How this turned into a browser discussion anyway

***LMFAO*** Nice one, sp_100.

I mentioned the 'security' aspect of 'IE' because the majority of users don't know how to set those options correctly, leaving their systems wide open, IMO.

I forgot number seven. A NAT firewalled router. I wouldn't go on the internet without one. Just an opinion, that's all.
