Wireless Problem with XP
Last night, we installed a wireless network here at home. The network is working fine, and I'm having no problem with my connection, but since connecting to the network, my computer is freezing a lot, about 6 times since last night, compared to about the same number in the previous 3.5 years! I'm using XP with SP2, fully up to date, working fine apart from this little problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

A couple of questions for you.
Are you letting XP manage your internet connection or are you using a wireless connection utility?
What kind of card are you using? Broadcom, Linksys, Netgear etc.
Also, what type is it? Is it an integrated chip? A PCMCIA card? USB?
Is it a B card, G card? B/G Card or A/B/G card?
If it is an internal card, did you just install it or did it come with the machine and you finally got around to using it?
Also, give us some system specs.
XP Home or Pro?
Processor Speed
Memory

Well, you meet the requirements for XP and the USB wi-fi.
How long does it take before your system crashes? When you connect to the internet? Or just after you connect to the router for x amount of minutes?
If you can plug it in without it crashing, plug it in, go to My Computer, right click, properties, hardware tab, Device Manager.
See if anything has a little yellow triangle next to it. It may be causing a conflict.
But first, let's get the problem narrowed down and then we can work on a solution.

Freezes seem to be random. The most common is when all the icons down in the bottom left are loading, not always the internet ones, but it has frozen after the computers been on for a while, and not always when I've been accessing the internet.
I checked Devise Manager, and no warning signs anywhere.

That sounds to me like you are overloading your RAM then.
The wi-fi USB is the straw that broke the camel's back.
Maybe I'm wrong and someone else can help you.
Sorry I couldn't help you anymore.
