Maxtor HDD issues?

I recently set up a Maxton hard drive as a slave, and everything works fine..except my keyboard. at the beginning, while my computer is loading up, it gives two beeps and then one..and I have to press F1 and F2 for another beep to come up..

this worked for a few days, until last night. I pressed F1 and F2..it beeped..but it disabled the keyboard for some reason..

now I'm stuck. please help.. -.-
