Unhappy Sound problem winxp pro.

Hi everyone, im new to this forum and its the first time i post in a forum.
I have a sound driver problem and i hope someone can show me how to solve it.

My desktop had a winxp home installed by the manufacturer, over time and no thanks to the internet my computer was full of junk and probably had a virus, so i formatted the harddisk and installed winxp pro.

now i can't get the sound to work (my pc did not come with a drivers cd) i went to the hp website to download the drivers for my model, and its asking me to download and install Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture High Definition audio bus driver on the PC before installing the sound driver.

called customer service they said its impossible to make sound work on winxp pro and that i have to go back to winxp home and order the cd from them :S

this is my computer info, please help !!

" they said its impossible to make sound work on winxp pro and that i have to go back to winxp home"

I think you better talk to Hp again.

Did you try to download and install the audio bus driver first?

Proprietary hardware sucks.

Hey.. let windows update run in your system... they have the drivers you need... If automatic downloads does not update your Audio drivers then I can show you were to get it from.... Follow the link to that page. You need to sign up to have access to the downloads... IT'S 100% free,,,,
I have already search for your drivers and they are there for you to download them... If you can not access them for any reason just post back here and I will give you my username and password for you to log in and download the drivers you need...

Don't buy that CD... They always say the same... That page is 100% free, actually I have uploaded many drivers to that page already...

Let me know

Hope this help

Well, now if you already download the .zip file make sure to unzip it and see if there is any .exe to run... if there is not all you need to do is:
Right click on My PC/properties/ Under hadware tab, click on Divice Manager... look at your audio drivers not installed they should hafe a question mark ( ? ) in yellow or something like that. Right click the hadware you wanna install and select UPDATE DRIVER (Audio) (Should say Realtek RTL8139 or so). New windows Hardware installation Wizard will come up... Follow the steps, select everything manually and point to the unziped folder where the drivers are...

Hope this help

Is the PCI Device.... But make sure to install the SM Bus controller
first... If you are connected to the internet with that PC you can do a search... windows will try to update the drivers...

HP system SR1519X key this to get info on your system.

Forget HP your motherboard is an ASUS Goldfish3 here are all the specs
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...name=c00361570

These are the original drivers offered by HP for your system, they are for WinXP home or Pro
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...c c=us&os=228
under Original drivers you will see Realtek High Definition and the Intel Chipset Drivers

now it tells that your sound is Realtek ALC880 and the driver is offered by Realtek http://w3serv.realtek.com.tw/downloa...Audio%20CODECs

The chipset driver will solve the other problems it is 915GV and Intel offer it here http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21
it's No:3 the INF Update Utility

All you have to decide is do you want the drivers from HP or from Realtek and Intel

You must install the Chipset Drivers first then RESTART your comp then install the audio drvers.

Important Set a System restore Point before installing drivers just in case

Hope this helps
