Soundmax onboard audio problem
Hey everyone,
I've been reading up frantically on these forums about a fix to, what seems, a very common 'no sound' problem. I recently just installed WinXP with SP2 and have no sound emitting from my speakers. My sound card shows up in the device manager as its respective counterpart (Soundmax Integrated Digital Audio), and when I play a music file in, say winamp, I hear absolutely nothing. The visuals and equalizer band thingy is responding as if music is playing, however i'm not hearing anything. My speakers are plugged in correctly (just 2 stereo speakers and a sub), and I am currently using the 5.12.1.5150 version soundmax drivers. I have been to the Asus website and downloaded the soundmax drivers from my respective motherboard (a7v880) section as well, and tried them to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated! My Belarc report is as follows:
