Getting blue error screen
Hello everyone this is my first time here so bare with me.
For a few weeks I have been getting a blue screen when I try to boot up using windows. The error message is as follow.
A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Disabe or uninstall any anti virus disk fragmentation or back up utilities.
Check your hard drive configuration and check for any updates drivers.
Run CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive crruption, and restart your computer.
My computer is running fine except for this when I try booting up I have to play with the CTRL, and ALT and sometimes hit the F10 to bypass... Thank you for any help on this topic...Rob

Hi need the number so that the wrong advice is not given, nothing to do with building machine. Should be something like this 0x000? of course if you don't want help then, its up to you.

This error occurs when you are using the fat file system(the method an OS uses to keep track of files) and have a physical problem with a hard drive or an IRP (Interrupt Request Packet, a method of sending data or commands between devices and the windows Plug-and-pLAY MANAGER) didn't complete successfully or is corrupted.
Solution:
Disable all backup utilities, virus scanners, firewall software, and any other software that runs automatically at startup. Verify the file system's integrity by running the CHKDSK utility and repairing any errors it reports. To do this, click Start and Run, type chkdsk in the Open field and click OK. Contact the manufacturer to ensure that you have the latest drivers for your hard drive(s) and any removable media drives, including tape backup and optical drives.
If you are unable to boot your computer to run CHKDSK, try using the Recovery Console to run the CHKDSK routine. To do this you will need to boot from a WinXP setup CD or startup Floppy diskettes. If you don't have these handy, you can make a set by booting from any Windows startup diskette that includes support for CD-ROM drives, such as Windows 95/98/ME.
After you successfully boot with CD-ROM support, insert the WinXP Cd. Navigate to the Support\Bootdisk\Directory on the CD-ROM drive and then run the Make-boot.exe or Makebt32.exe program to create the setup diskettes.
Boot from the setup diskettes. When the welcome to setup dialog box displays, press F10 to start the Recovery Console. When the Recovery Console prompt displays, you can try to repair the corrupted NTFS drive or partition by typing the command chkdsk X:/p where X is the drive letter (for example C). When the command finishes, remove the diskette, type exit, press RETURN, and restart your computer.
If you still can't boot your computer, you may need to delete and re-create the corrupted partition. Unfortunately, you will lose all data on the partition.
Hope this helps you sorry it took so long to get back to you.
