system hangs after mouse right-click

Hi there. One of my xp machines recently hung (actually with busy hourglass) when I right-clicked the mouse button on whatever files and folders. It also hung when I tried to delete any files manually. (select the file and press the 'delete' key). Can anyone please advise how to sort it out?

Have you ran any spyware and virus scans?
When was the last time you ran disk clean up and defrag?

Hi there. My xp machines are installed with anti-virus tools and I usually deflag and do some express clean up (by norton system works) once a month. It seems to me that it's not associated with any spyware stuff. Any clues? Is there anything to do with the right click menu handlers? And if yes, why and how to get rid of it?

ShellExView, mentioned in the article linked to above, is a great program, and is free. Definitely use that program instead of modifying the registry.
