Angry How can I remove Laptop ACER BIOS password

Ok common problem, put a password in BIOS, forgot password completely. After typing the wrong password three times it shows "System Disabled [05649]"
Can't use Recovery CD, because I have to typed the right password, can't go to Safe Mode, can't do the F2 and no floppy drive.
Its Acer Aspire 3610 laptop.

Heres two solutions I found:

1. Type in the backdoor password, I found backdoor passwords for the right brand or w/e (Phoenix) but they don't work for me.

2. Remove the battery a period of time, up to couple days or so even. I tried to remove the battery but can't locate it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried going into BIOS? Click F2 at the boot, and that get you into BIOS.

I've heard that one as well, ANZAC_ELITE. Very bizarre, don't you think? *LMAO*****

NB Don't try this at home, kids. We don't accept liability here, you know.

Well I've got a mate in the UK who swears it works, something to do with the temp of the bios getting so low ??? like I said, I've never done it and anyone who does can "try it at their own risk"

Hmmm. I would try freezing it for 10 mins but its not my laptop.
I got a download that ANZAC_ELITE pasted, that can remove password but the laptop don't have a floppy drive. ... So my last option would be freezing, but do you think any hardware will damage?

wolflmg yes I did try going to BIOS by pressing F2, after clicking it it asks for a password.

Anyone know where to locate the battery? I removed all the screws on the bottom but can't seem the remove the bottom cover. Again its Acer Aspire 3610 laptop. I searched everywhere for instructions to remove the battery.

I think this is a password stored on a chip. You can't remove it by usual methods.
I suggest the freezer trick is not going to do the internals any good whatsoever. It will cause condensation, and I know of no actual cases where it worked.

This option may only be available on older systems, but it's possible it's still in use, I haven't checked recently. There may be a jumper on the motherboard that will allow you to reset the bios. It may even be labeled as resetting the password.

It's been a couple of years since I did that, but it may still work.

(edit) Oops, sorry. I just saw that you said laptop. My bad, scratch what I said.

The laptop doesn't seem to be too old, I'm just wondering why the hell it doesn't have a floppy drive? DVD-Rom doesn't seem it can't get off so floppy drive would go in.

I've heard little bit about Linux Live CD, any suggestions on that?

legendhasit,

sticking the laptop in the freezer won't work, don't bother with it. This work around is for some cases of over heated hard drives...and there is not guarantee to it at all.

Getting around the Laptop BIOS password is tricker then the desktop...I don't know if your system would go passed POST or not...in either case, there are few software out there that would allow you to clear the bios.....but you need to do some reading first...

Check out this site: http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/36/68/ search for this section "Password cracking software" , you will find four software which may help you out (please note that you have to be registered user in order to download the software.

Cheers

I found working solutsion. I have aspire 1682 and used CmosPwd tool http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd
What i did is i unzipped windows file to c: drive ,then i run cmd
from cmd line type ioperm.exe -i and then Cmospwd_win.exe /k
It will kill cmos and in next reboot type f2 to enter bios , it will take longer time(1-2 minutes) cose it rebuilds cmos and bios is resetted.
No warranties , forks for me.

Rynts

Thats a good work around for YOUR issue, but the original problem is, he can't access Windows / BIOS.

Why don't you just contact Acer and see if they can give you any solutions on where the battery is or see if they have some back door pws?

EDIT: Take a look at the following:

most motherboard manufacturers have installed jumpers that can whipeout bios passwords, you have to locate the jumper and switch the jumper to a different location. you can probably find out more information by locating your exact motherboard and googling specifications on the motherboard to find out about the jumper location and settings
