My Harddisk Space?

i got an 80GB harddisk.

i partitionized it into 3 primary partitions :
C - 20GB as system
D - 40GB as data storage
E - 13GB as scratchdisk for graphic application

i recently notice that my C drive is low in space. when i check it i found that i lost around 4GB of harddisk space to nowhere....here is the situation:

- i go to "My Computer" and check the C drive properties it gives me the reading of
Used Space : 11.7GB
Free Space : 8.23GB

-then i click on the C drive, i selecting every files and folders inside (even show hidden files) and go to properties. The size is 7.75GB

i suppose the used space for C drive and the total file size for everything inside C drive shld be equal. so i'm wondering where my 4GB goes?...
can anyone help me please?

That is normal what you are seeing as there is nothing wrong. If I check mine as you did, my results are almost identical (the difference between the used space). As for why, off the top of my head Im not sure.

hey man, use a utility called windirstat it will tell you where your files are and where the largest concentration of files is located, you can then figure out whats eating up your space....
