Click Here to open Kelly's Korner.

Scroll down to line 260 and in the right-hand pane, click on "System32 Folder Opens on Boot" to download a small vbs file (might have to right click it, left click "Save target as"). If your antivirus alerts, tell it to ignore...the file is safe.

Once it's downloaded, run it according to the directions at the top of the Kelly's Korner page and that should fix the problem.

Hi,

Open the MSCONFIG utility (Start/Run type in MSCONFIG click OK) and deselect (uncheck) any entry with not target directory from the STARTUP tab, click Apply, click OK and restart. You could probably see an "F" letter with no target or something else. Can you tell me what brand is your system? And some information about it. I have seen this to happen in the DELL DIMENSION and I have been able to fix that just like I explaind you before

Hope this help

Did you open the msconfig to check your startup??? or are you using something else???

Anyways... doble check that please and if you have a Windows XP installation CD you can try this:

Place the Installation CD in the CD drive. Click on Start/ Run and type "sfc /scannow" without quotes... that will repair damages in the OS in most of the cases.

See if anything in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, System32 Folder Opens When Logging on to Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0 helps fix the problem.
