Unhappy User Switching

I'm confused...
I read that XP can switch users on-the-fly, and I have even seen this happen on my friends computer. I would like to do that as well, but it won't let me. It just says "Do you want to logoff? Yes or No" whenever i click LOGOFF. And also when i press SHUT DOWN, I only have two options, restart and shutdown, my standby button is grey, how do i use that, and hibernate? Sorry about all the questions Thanx

Windows Logo + L is the shortcut to switch users (it will lock your computer if you don't have another user to switch to, or if Fast User Switching is disabled).

_____________
I found this about "Stand-by" and "Hibernate" not working:

"Your computer won’t enter standby or hibernation.
Power management features—in particular standby and hibernation—rely on device drivers that support power management in addition to compatible hardware. In particular, incompatible video drivers prevent these features from working. The built-in VGA driver, for example, is a bare-bones driver that doesn’t support power management. If standby and hibernate don’t work, install an updated driver for your display adapter."

By the way, you can toggle between Stand-by and Hibernate by pressing the shift key.

understand if the machine is not up to market specs as of 2002 then it will run extremely slow if you have other processes running on the other profile.
