~~~~~ Desktop Shadows ~~~~~

Hey! Thanx in advance for taking the time to read this!
I'm having a little problem, my desktop has coloured blocks (Like previous windows versions) behind the desktop icons instead of a shadow, here is how it looks like:



Can someone please tell me how i can get the shadows back and what might be causing this problem? I'd prefer if you emailed me: dfekt@msn.com cos i rarely get to use this site

there must be some problem in your diver of your display card.
try the latest version to solve this problem

Start > Control Panel ( in classic mode) > System > Advanced > Settings (in Performance panel) > click "Use drop shadows for icon lables on the desktop" > click "Apply" > OK > OK

thanx people but i managed to solve the problem
you have to turn off 'Lock Desktop Items' if you are having this problem!

Right click on desktop > Active Desktop > Unmark 'Lock Desktop Items'.
