How do I configure which program to use with rtsp protocol?

When I type to Start -> Run "rtsp://somedomain.com/somestream.sdp" it opens up Media Player Classic. I would like to change it to VLC media player. How do I do that? (A bonus: how do I say which protocol should launch in which program?)

I couldn't find any information on how Windows decides based on the protocol which program to launch. (A bit like the "File Types" list in the Folder Options)

I searched with Google and Google Groups, went through the MS knowledge base, searched the Windows registry, but couldn't much specific information on this.

Found it from the registry

In case somebody else is asking this too, I'm reporting that I did find it from the registry after all:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\rtsp\shell\open\command had "C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe" %1 as data. Changing that helps.
