HELP PLEASE!! I installed the Windows IE 7 and now my AOL Dial-UP won't work...

I have everything set just as I used to in my AOL set-up for a Dial Up, the dial-up gets detected it lets me add local numbers etc. When I click sign on for my Dial Up (I also have to dial OUT with a 9 I pay rent monthly from a motel room) I hear the 9 getting dialed, then a local 7 digit number and then it just STOPS NOTHING. Then I get a error message no dial tone detected, and as stated this has started after I installed the Windows IE 7, I do have a Wireless LAN but I want to use the Dial Up when I can.

IE7 is A beta and are used at own risk the best thing to is restore your system to an earlier time or unistall ie7 and reinstall dialup settings
if you have no system resore periods

First, do yourself a favor and cancel AOL. There is nothing worse, and it makes itself virtually impossible to completely remove. If there is worse software out there, I've yet to see it. Don't get me started on their "service"...

Second, look at Device Manager and see if there's a conflict with your modem. If you can, plug a phone into the line and see if there really is a dial tone.

Next, try an experiment. Create another user and login under that. Does the problem still exist? Sometimes a profile becomes corrupted, and rather than trying to fix it, it's much easier to create another. Then copy and paste from the old one.

You've uninstalled IE7, right? If you haven't, uninstall it. Then, if you still can't connect to the internet and you really want to stay with AOL (yuck), reinstall aol.

AOL has an Internet Explorer program packaged inside of it (IE6). When you installed IE7, things got confused and messed up.
