Problem w/C Drive

I am running the latest version of Windows XP on an HP Pavilion 733 Mhz computer, though I have had this problem well into my earlier Windows 98 days.

When I double click the C Drive to open it, it asks for a file called "autorun.exe". The C Drive does not display the usual icon, but rather the "unknown" icon, and it won't let me open the drive without right clicking it and selecting "open". When I tried to fix this problem (using the autorun.exe file in the Windows XP folder), it ended up causing my printer program to load every time I double click the drive.

I want to know what I can do to fix this problem. If I need to download a new autorun.exe, where could I find it, and how can I get it to load the C Drive properly when I double click it?

If you right click on C: drive - what option is at the TOP of the context menu that appears?

i had a similar problem where Search appeared at the top of the menu instead of Open or Explore.

That entry at the top is the one that runs when you double click.

I can't remember how I fixed it but it was a simply registry change, check the win tips and tricks site to find it - sorry but I cannot remember what it is.

I think I got the problem after I installed Gozilla as it fucks around with the context menus...
