More XP Folder view problems

Most of my XP folders I have in List view. Three I prefer to have Icons but the system continually changes these to anything it pleases although generally Lists.
I have checked to remember each folders views.
Any suggestions please before I put my fist htrough the monitor?

With one folder set exactly how you want it, have you gone into Tools-->Folder options-->view and clicked on the "Like current folder" button, then closed and opened explorer again? If you do that then all the folder you view should be exactly like the one you had open when you set it.

Cannot find "Like current folder button". Can only find where you can make all folders the same as the current view.
