Audio is Intergrated Sound Blaster

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

B01 D01 F00: Intel 537EP Modem

B01 D02 F00: Creative SB Live! 24-bit Sound Card

These are your drivers from Dell http://support.dell.com/support/down...&catid=&impid=

report shows a sound card installed this is the driver No:2 in list http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...ct=1&x=27&y=14

you have 2 sets of audio plugs on the tower
Are your audio plugs on the I/O plate or in a expansion slot, see here, click image to focus
http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

Check this out and check what is set as your default audio
Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

The sound card should be the one you use

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Check this to see if Realtek is default audio

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.
