Thats the chipst used in the K8U series boards , if you have an AMD Athlon 64 then audio is Realtek AC'97 go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...tDown=false#AC

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

alright so i noticed you are a hero and a heroine :P maybe you can help me cause iv tried random tips youv given other people and i had no success...

same problem....no sound.... 'No Sound Device Detected'

blah blah.... im too the point im gonna throw my CPU out a window.

i AM 17 so i do need music like its crack =P the past few days have simply...sucked....due to the constand [beep] but no sound otherwise.


please help me? :[

Need more info, make and model, if not sure Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

The only thing I could find was a driver for ME from DriverGuide, you need to register http://members.driverguide.com/ums/index.php?action=r

login, say no to offers, then left pane go to Search > Simple > and in model: type bt878/FUSION878a it will bring up the driver

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Their either on the motherboard cd or the sound card cd.
It's not done by a Windows install.
Have you plugged in any speakers ? If so where ?

I had a Sound problem ever since I formatted my computer. I tried to install a sound card driver that you recommended to someone else with no luck please help me.

Go here to DriverGuide and register http://members.driverguide.com/ums/index.php?action=r

Login - just click next offer on adds - left pane Search - Simple - in model: type 82801DB ICH4 - it will bring up a Soundmax audio driver

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Hey,

I tried that download and when I run the executable the Sound Max program comes up but when I go to install it says driver not found please reboot. I have rebooted and tried other files and everything but it won't work.

Any idea?

This board is proving elusive, any label on the tower giving the make and model, if not then you may have to pop the side of the tower off and take a look for the make and model, it will look something like this, click the image to focus http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...otherboard.JPG
