slow unraring of 4 g file
Hello all,
I'm currently running a 2.67 ghz P4 with 1024 ram, running windows XP. I have been searching the internet about this problem and have found some interesting stuff however none of it has helped my problem.
I have these 4g iso files that have been rar’d in packs of 48.8mb’s each, now it takes at least 45-50 minutes to extract them. For some reason I think this shouldn’t be happening.
I close all programs when I try to un-rar it and it still takes that long, no unknown processes are running either.
Defraggmentation is probably the problem; however I did do one a couple weeks ago.
I regularly download movies so I’m usally unraring them and have had this problem for a while. But I thought I remembered it being a lot quicker.
Could the disk deframentation be the only problem?
